Work ExperienceBefore 1988, worked in Brazil in the financial and planning areas of large corporations. After the MBA (1990) worked in Spain and Portugal for 3,5 years in management consulting at Gemini Consulting.
In 1994 returned to Brazil and opened MCD, the first local label and distributor specialized in World Music, having introduced (through finished product imports) such names as Narada,Putumayo,Ellipsis Arts, Hearts of Space, Budda Music, Arion Musique, ARC Music, Triloka and many others.
In 1997 introduced a line of children´s music and video produced in Brazil and today is the leading local trademark for quality music and video for children. In 1999 began production of more diverse local repertoire and continued working with international partners but only through licensing deals. Many of MCDs products have been released worldwide through licensing deals as well.
Some of its best known international names are: Atman, Barbatuques, Fortuna, Katia B and Ramiro Musotto. Barbatuques has been very successful with synchronization licenses placing tracks in commercials (Nike, Heineken, Unilever) and more recently in Microsoft´s Shadowrun game.
MCD´s current international partners are: Auvidis, Hearts of Space, Ishtar, Irma, Le Maquis, Music for Dreams, Naïve, New Earth Records, North Star Music, Peacelounge, Smithsonian Folkways, Triloka, Tumi Music, Ya Basta!, Inpartmaint, High Note among others.
Active participant in the Independent local scene, was part of the group which created ABMI since 2000, having been a director and board member of the association ever since its official beginning in 2002.
